3.1
Installation
WARNING
The fan can tip over and crush your feet or push you over during installation!
Note transportation diagram and centre of gravity! Wear protective footwear.
The fan is delivered as a complete unit as standard, i.e. ready for connection. It can be installed in any condensation-
free environment. When using the fan in environments with risk of condensation, consultation with Helios is necessary
before ordering, as the fans are not designed for high volumes of condensation as standard and they do not have con-
densate drain holes.
After the removal of packaging and the start of installation, the following points must be checked:
– is there any transport damage.
– broken or bent parts.
– broken or bent parts.
– The fans can be directly installed in the piping. When required, the structure-borne noise transmission can be coun-
teracted by using vibration dampers and canvas connections (see Accessories).
– A sufficiently long straight length of pipe (2x diameter) is provided before and after the unit to prevent performance
reduction and noise enhancement.
– The casing must not be deformed or warped during installation, and the fans must only be installed on sufficiently so-
lid and stable subsurfaces with suitable fastening materials (weight information according to unit label).
– Sufficient backflow depending on the fan used must be ensured! If applicable, observe instructions in DIN 1946-6.
3.2
Centre of gravity position
Depending on the size and motor performance, the motor may protrude from the casing and thus create an asymme-
trical centre of gravity position. In order to calculate the centre of gravity, an extension pipe (type VR..)
must be used (Fig.4). The weight information for the respective types can be found on the unit label!

3.3
Electrical connection
WARNING
The fan must be isolated from the mains power supply and secure against being switched on again before
all cleaning, maintenance and installation work or before opening the terminal compartment!
– The electrical connection and initial start-up must only be carried out by qualified electricians according to the infor-
mation in the attached wiring diagrams.
– All relevant standards, safety regulations (e.g. DIN VDE 0100), as well as the technical connection conditions of ener-
gy suppliers are to be adhered to!
– A multipole mains section switch/isolator is mandatory!
– Network configuration, voltage and frequency must be consistent with the rating plate information.
– Three-phase motors are generally wired for clockwise rotation in the clockwise rotating field (see rotation arrow).
– Earth conductors, including additional equipotential connections, must be properly installed!
– Check the waterproofing of the connection cable and tight clamping of the strands.
– The supply line must be professionally inserted! The connection cable in the terminal box must compensate for po-
tential fan vibrations.
Never lay cables over sharp edges!
