WARNING:

mended by the manufacturer of this product. The use of
attachments or accessories not recommended can result

NOTICE:
Before each use, inspect the entire product for damaged,
missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps,
etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not
operate this product until all missing or damaged parts
are replaced. Please contact customer service or a qual-
ified service center for assistance.
APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the purpose listed below:
 Dethatching your lawn
WARNING:
Always remove battery packs and start key from your tool
when you are assembling parts, making adjustments,
cleaning, or when not in use. Following these instructions
will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious
personal injury.
TO INSTALL/REMOVE BATTERY PACKS
See Figure 7.
To install:
 Raise the battery cover.
 Place a battery pack in both ports of the dethatcher. Align
raised ribs on battery pack with grooves in the dethatch-
er's battery port.

OPERATION

WARNING:
Make sure the latches on the battery packs snap in place
and the battery packs are fully seated and secure in the
battery port before beginning operation. Failure to secure-
ly seat the battery pack could cause the battery pack to
fall out, resulting in serious personal injury.
 Lower the battery cover.
To remove:
 Raise the battery cover.
 Depress the latches on each side of the battery pack.
 Remove battery pack from the dethatcher.
WARNING:
To avoid accidental starting that could result in serious
personal injury, always remove the start key when moving
or transporting the dethatcher.

uals for your battery pack and charger.
STARTING/STOPPING THE DETHATCHER
See Figures 8 - 9.
 Raise the battery cover.
 Insert a battery pack into both ports of the dethatcher.
NOTE: The dethatcher can operate only when two bat-
teries are installed. It is recommended to always use two
fully charged batteries for the best performance.
 Insert start key into the dethatcher.
 Press and hold the start button. Pull the bail toward the
handle and release the start button to start the dethatcher.
 To stop the unit, release the bail.
DETHATCHING TIPS
See Figure 10.
WARNING:
Do not dethatch on wet grass, which can cause you to
slip and fall and result in possible serious personal injury.
NOTICE:
To lengthen the lifespan of the tines and prevent unnec-
essary motor overload on the dethatcher, mow the
work area to a height of approximately 2 in. prior to
dethatching.
