3 Sterilization Cycles

3.1.- Overview – Cycles description
The unit sterilizes and dries dental instruments according to the following cycles.
The instruments may be wrapped and than positioned on the trays into the sterilization
chamber.
Sterilization cycles are classified in two categories, one of normally cycles used for
sterilizating instruments, and the other for testing the autoclave.
3.1.1.- Sterilization cycles
• 121°C unwrapped is related to a solid load without wrapping
• 121°C wrapped is related to a wrapped solid load
• 134°C flash is related to a cycle with fast drying
• 134°C unwrapped is related to a solid load without wrapping
• 134°C wrapped is related to a wrapped solid load
• 134°C Prion is a cycle apt to sterilize CJD ( Creutzfeldt -Jacob Desease) contaminations.

3.1.2.- Test Cycles

• 134°C Helix is used for testing steam penetration into a hollow load. Helix Indicator
System may be used.
• 134°C Bowie & Dick is used for testing steam penetration into a porous load. Bowie &
Dick packaging may be used.
• 134°C Vacuum is used for testing vacuum efficiency of the autoclave
