Why Perform Control Tests
Performing a control test lets you know that the meter and test strips are working properly to
give reliable results. You should perform a control test when:
• Y ou open a new box of test strips
• Y ou left the test strip container open
• Y ou want to check the meter and test strips
• Y our test strips were stored in extreme temperatures or humidity
• Y ou dropped the meter
• Y our test result does not agree with how you feel
• Y ou want to check if you are testing correctly
