according to the instructions supplied by the
manufacturer and in compliance with applicable
Laws.
The machine should be located and installed
in a place where the use and maintenance are
performed by qualified personnel. Can be used
the machine in places used to staff kitchen areas
in shops, offices and other working enviroments;
farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other
residential type enviroments; bed and breakfast
type enviroments
4.2 Preparation of the plant for in-
stallation
Prepare the machine's support on a flat horizon-
tal, dry, smooth, sturdy, stable surface positioned
at such a height that the cup warming surface is
over 150 cm from the ground.
Do not use water jets, neither perform the installa-
tion in places where water jets are used.
In order to guarantee regular operation, the de-
vice must be installed in places where the tem-
perature is between +5 and +32 ºC and the
humidity does not exceed 70%.
If the machine is exposed to temperatures below
+ 0 °C, proceed as follows:
- ensure that the machine has elapsed 24
hours in a place where temperature is higher
than + 15 °C before turn it on.
The machine is electrically supplied and it needs
the following to operate:
- connection to electric network
- connection to water network
- connection to drain circuit.
4.2.1 Connection to the electrical
network
Warnings:
- The plant must be built in compliance with the
current laws in force and be earthed.
The machine must be supplied with an electrical
power cable with a fitted plug.
4.2.2 Connection to the water network
(R/TOP-DIRECT WATER CONNECTION version)
Make sure that the water supply installation is con-
nected to drinkable water supply with operating
pressure ranging from:
- 0 to 6 bar (0 - 0,6 MPa) "TOP-DIRECT WATER
CONNECTION" version
- 2 to 6 bar (0,2 - 0,6 MPa) "R" version
Should the pressure be above 6 bar (0,6 MPa),
provide a reducer.
Provide an intercepting tap upstream the machine
connection (Fig. 01; pos 4).
A pipe with G 3/8" nipple is provided for the wa-
ter supply connection.
4.2.3 Connection to the drain
Connect a rubber pipe (Fig. 01; pos 13) with in-
ner diameter of 10 mm to the arranged connec-
tor of the machine drain well and join it with the
open drain-trap, previously prepared.

4.3 Equipotential connection

The function of this connection, required by some
standards, is to prevent the electric potential differ-
ences between the masses of the different equip-
ment installed in the same place. This device is
provided with a terminal installed under the base
to connect an external wire having a rated section
in compliance with the current regulations.

4.4 Group lever assembly

The machine is delivered with the group lever (A)
disassembled. Before use, fully screw the group
lever (A) on the joint (B) as indicated in Fig. 10
and if necessary unscrew it until the logo (C) on
the handle corresponds with the front of the ma-
chine.
Use the Allen wrench (D) supplied with the ma-
chine to screw the dowel (E), (supplied as well),
locking the group lever (A).
Now the machine is ready for use.

4.5 "TOP" VERSION

The STREGA espresso machine is manufactured
as well in the "TOP" version and can be used in
TANK or DIRECT WATER CONNECTION mode.
By means of a pump, it sends to the boiler and
to the exchanger, depending on the version, the
water coming from the tank (TANK mode) or from
the supply line (DIRECT WATER CONNECTION
mode).
