Cleaning and Disinfection

Cautions
The M2741A sensor can be cleaned and disinfected,
but not sterilized.
Cannulas, airway adapters and sample lines are single-
patient-use. Do not clean, disinfect, sterilize, or reuse
accessories designed for single-patient-use.
Approved Cleaning Agents and
Disinfectants
Use only recommended cleaners and disinfectants listed
below. Others may reduce product lifetime or cause safety
hazards.
Approved Cleaning Agent
Use only mild soap to clean the M2741A Sensor.
Approved Disinfectants
70% Isopropyl Alcohol
10% Aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite
(bleach)

M2741A Sensor Cleaning and
Disinfection Procedure
1. Using a soft, clean cloth dampened with cleaning
agent, wipe all sensor surfaces clean, from one end of
the cable to the other.
2. Change to a water-dampened cloth and wipe the Sensor
and cable completely, removing all residue.
3. Repeat step 1 substituting one of the approved
disinfectants for the cleaning agent.
4. Repeat step 2 using a cloth slightly-dampened with
sterile water.
5. Check that the sensor windows are clean and dry
before reuse.
