Overload protection
In cases of extreme overload (rip cutting, use of blunt
saw blades) the power consumption may considerably
exceed the permissible rated value. In this case an
electronic overload device protects the motor from
burning out. The motor is hereby switched of by an
"electronic safety clutch" and re-starts as soon as
the load is removed.
Temperature protection
Extreme overload in continuous operation causes the
motor to heat up. An electronic temperature moni-
toring device is fitted to prevent overheating (motor
burn-out). The electronic safety device switches the
motor off before the motor is able to reach a critical
temperature. After a cooling period of approx. 3–5 mi-
nutes the machine is once again ready for operation
and can run at full load. The cooling period can be
greatly reduced if the machine is running (idling or
recovery speed).

7.2 Cutting Depth Adjustment

Release the locking lever [1-16].
Set the required depth on the cutting depth scale
[1-15].
Raise: smaller cutting depth
Lower: larger cutting depth
Re-tighten the clamping lever [1-16].
To achieve the best cutting results, the saw blade
should protrude from the material by no more than
3 mm.

7.3 Cutting Angle Adjustment

Release the cutting angle locking lever at [1-7] and
[1-18].
Set the cutting angle as required using the scale
[1-19]. (The scale is calibrated in 1° increments).
Re-tighten the cutting angle locking lever at [1-7]
and [1-18].
WARNING
The maximum cutting depth is reduced for bevel
cuts.
7.4 Cut indicator
The cut produced by the HK 132 E depends on the
bevel setting and can be observed at the cut indicator.

7.5 Parallel Guide

Various parallel guides can be inserted into the ma-
chine base plate [2-2] on the left [2-3] and on the
right [2-4].
Tighten the parallel guide using the winged screws
[2-1].

7.6 Dust extraction

CAUTION
Inhaled dust may damage the air pas sages.
f Tools should be permanently connected to the
dust extracting plant.
f Wear respirator if you work with dust. .
To extract dust, suction adapter [1-1] can be moun-
ted on the sawdust ejector through which common
extract hoses of dust extractors can be connected.

7.7 Replacing the Saw Blade

WARNING
Risk of injury
f Before exchanging the saw blade, pull the
mains plug from the power sup ply socket.
f Wear protective gloves!
The sawing performance and the quality of the cut
depend essentially on the condition and tooth form of
the saw blade. Therefore, use only sharp saw blades
that are suitable for the material to be worked.
Swing back the swinging guard with the lever [3-5].
Install a suitable saw blade according to the illustra-
tion and tighten. Take care that the mounting flange
[3-4] and the clamping flange [3-2] are correctly
positioned. The holes in the saw blade [3-3] must fit
onto the follow-up pins on the mounting flange [3-4].
WARNING
Risk of injury
f Observe for installation: The cutting direction
of the teeth (arrow on the saw blade) must
match the direction of the arrow on the guard.
f Check the function of the swinging guard.
