Important :
• Only use the telephone connection cord supplied; if you use other cords, it is possible that a connection might
not be made.
• To prevent the interference, do not position the base near electrical equipment, such as televisions, computer
screens, photocopiers, etc.
d. Charging the batteries
Before using the TOPTEL for the first time, you shall:
CHARGE THE BATTERIES FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS
• Battery
When the batteries are completely charged, the capacity is about 100 hours in standby mode and 10 hours in
communication (normal use without using the hands free mode). The charging process lasts about 14 hours when
the batteries are empty.
The complete capacity of the batteries is reached after 4-5 charging cycles. As soon as the batteries are full, the
screen displays .
The telephone has a charging automatism, so that the batteries cannot be overcharged. The modern NiMH cells
do not present almost no memory effect and then have a long lifetime, even when the batteries are only partially
charged.
The telephone is equipped with ecologic nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries (2 x AAA 1,2 V). Like for all cells,
the efficacy can be reduced with the time. If you note that the standby and communication times are particularly
reduced or that the batteries present a defect, you must replace them.
CAUTION!
When the telephone is connected for the first time, the batteries have to be recharged for 24 hours.
Avoid leaving the batteries in the mobile devices if you do not use them for a long time (more then six months).
• Displaying the charging status
When the batteries are about to be discharged, the symbol displays on the screen of the mobile device and a
sound signal can be heard. If the telephone is not charged, the mobile device turns off automatically in case of too
low voltage, until it is placed back on the charging base.
e. Identification of TOPTEL through its base
• The handset is originally factory-paired with its base. However if no communication is possible,
proceed as follows:
1) The mobile handset must first be recharged for 24 hours.
2) When the batteries are completely charged, hold the "Paging" key of the base station until the link indicator
flashes 5 times, and then release it.
3) Now, hold the INT (Intercom) key until "Register New? " appears on the screen.
4) Confirm with [OK] to complete the registration process.
5) A sound signal is emitted and the number displayed on the screen is assigned to the mobile handset.
• To set the menu language
The menu is originally in French.
- Press the left display key of your handset to enter the menu
- Select the "parameters" icon , validate with ok.
- Select "language"
- Then choose one of the 7 languages available: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, and Portuguese.
- Validate with Ok
Your handset already works as a telephone.
