WARNING - Always wear protective
gloves during maintenance opera-
tions. Do not carry out maintenance
when the engine is hot.
CHAIN SHARPENING
The pitch of the chain (Fig. 40) is
.325"x.058"
Sharpen the chain using protective gloves
and a round file of Ø 4.8 mm (3/16").
Always sharpen the cutters only with
outward strokes (Fig. 51) observing the va-
lues given in Fig. 52.
After sharpening, the cutting links must all
have the same width and length.
WARNING - A sharp chain produ-
ces well-defined chips. When your
chain starts to produce sawdust, it is ti-
me to sharpen.
After every 3-4 times the cutters have been
sharpened you need to check the height of
the depth gauges and, if necessary, lower
them using the flat file and template sup-
plied optional, then round off the front cor-
ner (Fig. 53).
WARNING - Proper adjustment of
the depth gauge is as important as
proper sharpening of the chain.

GUIDE BAR
The guide bars provided with a sprocket at
their tip must be lubricated with grease
using a lubrication syringe (Fig. 54).
The bar should be reversed every 8
working hours to ensure uniform wear.
Keep the bar groove and lubrication hole
clean using the bar groove cleaner sup-
plied optional (Fig. 55).
Check the bar rails frequently for wear and,
if necessary, remove the burs and square-
up the rails using the flat file (Fig. 56).
WARNING - Never mount a new
chain saw on a worn sprocket
(Fig. 57).

ATENCION - Durante las operacio-
nes de manutención llevar siempre
los guantes de seguridad. No efectuar
la manutención con el motor caliente.
AFILADO CADENA
El paso de la cadena (Fig. 40) es de
.325"x.058". Afilar la cadena utilizando
guantes de seguridad y lima redonda de Ø
4.8 mm (3/16").
Afilar siempre la cadena desde el interior
hacia el exterior del filo (Fig. 51) respetan-
do los valores que figuran en Fig. 52.
Los eslabones cortantes, después del afi-
lado, deben ser todos de la misma anchu-
ra y longitud.
ATENCION - La cadena debe ser
afilada cada vez que se observe
que las virutas son de dimensiones
muy reducidas, como el normal aserrín.
Cada 3-4 afilados es necesario controlar y,
eventualmente, limar el delimitador de pro-
fundidad sirviéndose de la lima plana y de
la lima suministrada como opcional, segui-
damente se deberá redondear el ángulo
anterior (Fig. 53).
ATENCION - La correcta regulación
del delimitador de profundidad es
tan importante como el correcto afilado
de la cadena.

BARRA
Las barras con piñón en la punta deben
ser lubricadas con grasa usando una jerin-
guilla para lubricación (Fig. 54).
La barra se debe girar cada 8 horas de tra-
bajo para permitir un desgaste uniforme.
Mantener limpias las ranuras de la barra y
el orificio de lubricación con la rasqueta su-
ministrada como opcional (Fig. 55).
Controlar que las guías de la barra sean
paralelas y, si es necesario, quitar las re-
babas laterales con la lima plana (Fig. 56).
ATENCION - No montar nunca una
cadena nueva sobre un piñón
(Fig. 57).
