Thank you for choosing the visomat
(also referred to in the following as the unit).

This unit is recommended to patients with unstable blood pressure or known
hypertension for measuring their blood pressure at home and for therapy support.

Mode of operation:

This product is designed to determine blood pressure using the auscultatory

method (i.e. with a stethoscope)
The process of inflating the cuff using the pump ball cuts off the blood flow in the
upper-arm artery.

During the deflation process thumping sounds can be heard through the stetho-

scope when the blood starts flowing in the artery again.

Systole is determined when the noises begin, and diastole is determined with the
28
last audible sound. The cuff can be fully deflated when both values have been
28
determined.
These instructions are intended to help the user to use the blood pressure monitor
29
and stethoscope safely and efficiently. They must be kept with the product and
29
forwarded, if applicable.
