5 Control Handle
For operating, holding and controlling the trimmer.
6 Retaining Latch
Operated together with the trigger lockout to unlock the
trigger. It is also used to select the power level.
7 LEDs
The LEDs indicate the selected power level.
8 Trigger
The trigger switches the motor on and off.
9 Trigger Lockout
Operated together with the retaining latch to unlock the
trigger.
10 Wing Screw
Secures the handlebar to the handle support.
11 Handlebar
Connects control handle and left grip to drive tube.
12 Grip
For holding and controlling the trimmer.
13 Drive Tube
Connects all components.
14 Opening for Stop Pin
Accommodates the stop pin.
15 Stop Pin
Blocks shaft while cutting attachment is being mounted.
16 Gear Housing
Houses the gearbox and serves as mounting for cutting
attachment and deflector.
17 Screw Plug
Closes filler opening for STIHL gear grease.

The mowing head contains the mowing line.
