5. Before starting the equipment

Be sure to read the following information before you
use the equipment for the first time:
Charge the battery pack only with the charger
supplied.
Use the cutter only with a sharpened and faultless
blade.
Do not reach into the vicinity of the movable
cutting attachments.
Never reach under the material while cutting.
Make sure that materials and surfaces beneath
the cutting area cannot be damaged by the
blades.
Never leave the equipment unsupervised.

6. Operation

6.1 Charging the battery (Figure 1)
The battery is protected from exhaustive discharge.
An integrated protective circuit automatically switches
off the equipment when the battery is flat. In this case
the blade will not move.
Warning! Do not press the ON/OFF switch any more
if the protective circuit has actuated. This may
damage the battery.
1. Check that your mains voltage is the same as that
marked on the rating plate of the battery charger.
Plug the battery charger in the plug socket and
connect the charging cable to the charging
connection. The charging process starts as soon
as the charging cable is connected to the
charging connection.
2. The red LED will come on (6) to indicate that the
battery pack is being charged.
3. The charging control lamp (6) goes out when
charging is completed.
Important.
The handle may become a little warm during the
charging process. This is normal.
If the battery pack fails to charge, please check
whether there is voltage at the socket-outlet
and check for proper contact with the charging
contacts in the battery charger.
If the battery still fails to charge, send
the battery charger
the equipment
to our customer services department.

Timely recharging of the battery pack will help it serve
you well for a long time. You must recharge the
battery pack when you notice that the power of the
tool drops.
Never allow the battery pack to become fully
discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.
6.2 ON/OFF switch (Fig. 2)
To switch on:
Press the locking button (2) and the ON/OFF switch
(1) at the same time
To switch off:
Release the locking button (2) and the ON/OFF
switch (1) at the same time
6.3 Changing the cutting attachment (Figure 3)
You can fit or replace the cutting attachment without
using any other tools. The blade of the cutting
attachment is very sharp. Press the two locking knobs
(4) of the cutting attachment (3) and slide out the
cutting attachment (3) towards the front. To fit the
cutting attachment (3), push it into the guide (a) at the
front and press it to the rear until it latches in place.
Check that the cutting attachment (3) is secure.
6.4 Notes on operation
Never subject the equipment to so much load that
it stops working.
The equipment's cutting performance depend on
the material being cut and the charge status of
the battery.
Depending on the charge status, too high a feed
speed of the equipment will reduce the
equipment's performance dramatically.
The cutting blade must always be kept free and
clean.
Make sure that no thin materials such as textiles
are drawn into the equipment and jam. Do not
press the equipment too firmly against the
material; always hold the material under tension.
For optimum cutting results, carry out trial cuts on
test pieces.
