Lenze low−voltage machinery
5. Electrical connection
All work may only be performed by qualified technical personnel on the resting low−voltage machine in an isolated
state that is secured against restarting. The same applies to auxiliary current circuits (e.g. brake, encoder, separate
fan).
Check isolation from supply!
Exceeding the tolerances in EN 60034−1; IEC 34 (VDE 0530−1) − voltage ±5 %, frequency ±2 %, waveform,
symmetry − increases the heating and affects the electromagnetic compatibility.
Observe circuit notes, information on the nameplate and connection diagram in the terminal box.
The connection must be carried out in such a way that a permanent safe electrical connection is maintained (no
protruding wire ends); use assigned cable end fittings. Establish a secure PE conductor connection. Tighten
connectors up to the stop.
Do not underrun the smallest air distances between blank, live parts and values toward earth: 8 mm with U
£ 725 V, 14 mm with U
10 mm with U

The terminal box must be free of foreign bodies, dirt and moisture. Unused cable entries and the box itself must be
closed dust and watertight. Secure the featherkey for the trial run without output elements. For low−voltage machines
with brake, check the proper function of the brake before commissioning.
6. Operation
Vibrational severities v
eff
of changes to normal operation, e.g. increased temperatures, noises, vibrations, determine the cause and consult
the manufacturer, if necessary. In case of doubt, switch off the low−voltage machine.
In case of heavy dirt accumulation, clean the air passages regularly.
Do not deactivate protective devices, including during the trial run.
Built−in thermal detectors are not a full protection of the machine; if necessary, limit the maximum current, perform
a function block interconnection with disconnection after a few seconds of operation with I > I
of blocking exists.
Shaft sealing rings and roller bearings have a limited service life.
Regrease bearings with regreasing device with running low−voltage machine. Observe saponification type. If grease
outlet bores are closed with plugs (IP54 on output side; IP23 on output and non−output side), remove plugs before
commissioning. Close bore holes with grease. Bearing change with permanent lubrication (2Z bearing) after approx.
