7.3 Maintenance

CAUTION: HOT STOVE PARTS
Stove parts listed in the service and cleaning schedule get very hot during
operation:
► Always perform maintenance with the stove completely cooled
down.
NOTE: ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Your stove requires regular maintenance to ensure it is working properly.
The items in table "Service and lubrication schedule" depend on the following
factors:
▪ Fuel quality
▪ Intensity of use
▪ Heating patterns
▪ Legal requirements

7.3.1 Cleaning the firebox glass
If heavily soiled:
► Moisten paper towels or newspaper and dip in cold ashes.
► Wipe the glass with it.
► Dry the glass with dry paper.
For light soiling:
► Spray glass cleaner on a cloth and wipe the glass with it.
► Do not use abrasive, corrosive or aggressive
cleaners to prevent damage to the glass surface.

7.3.2 Cleaning the surfaces

HASE stoves are coated with a heat-resistant open pore lacquer that provides
only limited corrosion protection; accordingly, a rust film may develop in
some cases.
Depending on your model, your stove is steel, ceramic or soapstone cladded.
Ceramic/soapstone:
► Clean the surfaces with a slightly damp cloth.
Steel:
► Use a dry or slightly damp cloth.
► Do not use acidic cleaning agents
(e.g. citrus or vinegar cleaner).
INFO: STEEL CLADDING
Treat areas covered in a rust film with the original HASE Stove Lacquer Spray.
Be sure and follow the instructions on the spray can. Your authorised HASE
dealer carries the stove lacquer spray and can give you tips on using it.
7.3.3 Cleaning the ash drawer and fire grate
► Open the firebox door.
► Sweep the ash through the openings in the fire grate and into
the ash drawer or vacuum the ash.
► Close the firebox door
► Open the service door.
► Pull the ash drawer out of the opening by the cover (Fig. 16).
Empty the ashes into a fireproof container or vacuum out the
drawer.
► Slide the ash drawer back into the opening (Fig. 17).
9 Close the service door.

7.3.4 Cleaning the ash compartment

► Open the service door.
► Pull the ash drawer out of the opening by the cover (Fig. 15).
► Vacuum or sweep out the ash compartment.
► Clean with a dry cloth. Do not use acidic cleaning agents
(e.g. citrus or vinegar cleaner) or water to prevent damaging the
electronics.
► Slide the ash drawer back into the opening (Fig. 16).
9 Close the service door.
7.3.5 Inspecting/cleaning the firebricks
► Open the firebox door
► Verify the firebricks are intact.
If pieces have broken off, the cladding must be
replaced (see chapter "7.3.10 Replacing the firebox
cladding (fire bricks)."
► Small cracks do not affect the functionality of your stove.
► Do not use sharp objects to avoid damaging the cladding.
► Sweep or vacuum up the combustion residues.
► Verify the vents in the back panel (Fig. 14) are clear.
Vacuum the openings.
9 Close the firebox door.
