The following precautions should be taken in order to prevent
serious injuries and accidents.
1 - Carefully read and follow the instructions printed on the labels
fixed to the machine (Look page 4).
2 - Keep bystanders, particularly children and pets away from the
mowing area (Fig. 1).
3 - Do not allow any inexperienced or under age persons, or
those who may not possess sufficient strength, to operate the
mower or if you have taken alcohol, drugs, or medication (Fig.
2).
4 - When the engine is running, do not put hands or feet near or
under the mower deck (Fig. 3).
5 - Always think about safety and dress accordingly (Look page
12-13).
6 - Wear only tough shoes when mowing, never sandals (Look
page 12-13).
7 - Always put on safety glasses or eye protection before starting
to work (Look page 12-13).
8 - Familiarize yourself thoroughly with the controls and the prop-
er use of the mower, before using it, especially on how to stop
it in case of urgent need.
9 - Do not mow on wet grass or other slippery surfaces; keep a
firm hold on the handle and walk behind the mower (Fig. 4),
never run.
10 - Do not mow up or down a slope, but always across it; if the
slope is too steep, do not mow (Fig. 5).
11 - Mow only in daylight or under strong artificial lighting.
12 - Do not leave the mower in places where exhaust gases can
accumulate and cause fire.
13 - Always check that rear deflector is properly in place (Fig. 6).
14 - Never use the mower without the grass bag (Fig. 6).
15 - If you strike an object, stop the engine and check for any
damage; do not restart the engine before carrying out the
necessary repairs (Fig. 7).

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
16 - Do not tilt the mower when starting: the blade could cause in-
juries.
17 - Never stand in front of the mower when the engine is running;
somebody could activate the clutch accidentally.
18 - Stop the engine when crossing paths, drives and when trans-
porting the lawnmover to and from the area to be mowed.
19 - Maker certain that all nuts, bolts and screws are securely
tightened (Fig. 8).
20 - Start mowing only after having checked that all the safety sys-
tems are fitted and operating correctly.
21 - Never make adjustments while the engine is running, except
for the carburetor (Fig. 9).
22 - Do not refuel the engine while running or even while still hot.
23 - Before leaving the mower, stop the engine and make sure
that all rotating parts have stopped moving.
24 - Allow the engine to cool before putting the mower into an en-
closed place.
25 - Do not tamper with the speed governor of the engine.
26 - Gasoline is highly inflammable: handle it with care (Fig. 10).
27 - If the engine is started without the grass bag fitted, do not
stand near the outlet (Fig. 11).
28 - If the mower is left unattended, stop the engine and park it on
level ground.
29 - Never touch hot parts, like the silencer, or moving parts (Fig.
12).
30 - Local by-laws may place restrictions on the age of the opera-
tor and the use of the machine in certain conditions.
31 - Bear in mind that the operator is responsible for accidents or
risks to other persons or to their property.
32 - Store fuel in containers specifically designed for the purpose
(Fig. 13).
33 - Always refuel outdoors and do not smoke while refuelling
(Fig. 10).

feet well away from the blade.

whenever the machine is left unattended; before clearing ob-
structions from the blade or the outlet; when removing the
grass bag; before commencing any cleaning or repair opera-
tion; if the machine starts vibrating abnormally (inspect imme-
diately), or after striking an obstacle. Following any impact,
check for possible damage and ensure the necessary repairs
are carried out before starting and operating the machine
again (Fig. 9).
41 - To minimize the risk of fire, keep the engine, silencer, battery
compartment and fuel storage area clean and free of grass,
leaves, grease and oil.
42 - Replace worn or damaged parts.
