In an AUTO calibration, the PHM220 automatically recognises three
types of buffer solutions: IUPAC certified pH standards (pH 1.679,
4.005, 7.000, 10.012, or 12.45), Technical buffers (pH 1.09, 4.65 or
9.23) or 4-7-10 Series.
1.
Press the Cal key. The type of buffer to be used during the
calibration is displayed for a few seconds. If you want to use
another type of buffer, select this in Edit CALIBRATION; see
page 33.
2.
If a temperature sensor is not connected, a temperature display
will now appear:
The temperature must be adjusted manually using the left or
right arrow key. Press the 3 key to continue the calibration
procedure.
Note: If a temperature sensor is connected, the temperature will
be measured directly and the Cal Temperature display will not
appear.
3.
Dip the electrode in the first buffer when the message Dip
Electrode in Buffer 1 appears.
4.
Check that the electrode(s) is(are) properly immersed in the
buffer solution and that proper stirring is applied. Press the
to continue.
5.
The measurement can now be followed on the display by means
of the pH reading and the visual STABility indicator. When the
electrode signal is stable the PHM220 will show the following
display:
The value in the first line refers to the pH value at 25°C of the
buffer recognised.
