5.5 Selections by the User
The Type of Vehicle must always be set even if an
automatic function is used and it must be done before
extracting the rim position reading arms.
5.5.1 Selecting the Type of Vehicle
 In the RIM DATA ENTRY menu screen Fig. 4-10
press the key 7, 8 or 9 shown, to change the Type
of Vehicle.
 Scroll and select the TYPE OF VEHICLE item
according to the rim on the machine.
When the selection has been made, the Type of
Vehicle in use identification icon will be displayed in
the Information Field (7, Fig. 4-10).

7 Standard vehicle wheel (car)- nominal dimensions
in inches.The unit of measure (inches) is displayed.
Normal and Alu 1 to Alu 5 weight positioning can be
selected. To select a standard wheel with nominal
dimensions in mm - For TD or TRX wheels, press
the inch item on the rim Diameter or on the Width
(14, Fig. 4-10).
8 Motorcycle wheel - nominal dimensions in inches,
with imbalances resolved and suppressed in the
same way as car wheels.
9 Light industry vehicle wheel (Van) - nominal
dimensions in inches. The threshold value for
suppression of minor unbalances is automatically
doubled when this type is chosen and the
resolution of the amount reading set to 10 g and 5
g respectively.
5.5.2 manual entering of the rim Width
If rim width is entered via the menu keys, the measure
can be manually caught.
If rim width is not given on the rim, it can be measured
on standard rims using the optional rim width callipers
(Fig. 5-9 – Ref. no. EAA0247G21A).
 Open the RIM DATA ENTRY screen
 Read the nominal diameter on the rim or tire and
note it down.
 Press on the Width item (A, Fig. 4-10), or on the
relative green arrows; the number box indicates
the possibility of editing the data item.
 Manually turn the wheel forward or back to obtain
the value corresponding to that measured, then
press again to assign the value.
