(Optional) Fitting of oval saddle rail clamps to Flip Head

If you have a saddle with oval rails and purchased the oval rail Flip Head saddle
clamps please review this section. Removal and replacement of the Flip Head
saddle clamp will allow the users to fit a saddle with oval 7x9mm rails (the
standard clamp is for round rails ONLY). Remove the saddle clamp screws, and
the Flip Head outer clamps (Fig. 1), as well as the saddle (Fig. 2). Fit the new
Flip Head outer clamps and saddle as described on pages 44–45. Adjust the
saddle to your individual preference, then tighten the saddle clamp screws to
4–5 Nm.
When changing the Flip Head outer clamps, pay particular attention to the
compatibility of the Flip Head oval outer clamps to the saddle rail size. See table
on the next page for more information.

rails measuring 7x7 mm (Fig. 3).
** Available separately. Only for use with saddles with oval carbon rails (7x9 mm)
(Fig. 4). Please pay attention to the saddle's marked clamping area, or measure
to ensure correct fit. Tolerances of + 0.3 mm are normal. On some saddles, the
additional carbon weave on the rail clamping area can make for higher variation
from this 0.3mm tolerance. Do NOT clamp the seat rails in areas beyond where
indicated.
