Connecting several sensing devices

ASO sensing devices must not be switched in parallel.
The sensing device input X1, X2 can be used to connect one or several sensing devices (e.g. safety
contact edges). To do so, the individual sensing devices are switched in series.
The device is suitable for connecting a maximum of 5 sensing devices with a total cable length of
max. 25 metres in series.
Before connecting them, the resistance value of the series connected sensing devices must be
measured.

Functional test

Once all of the components have been connected and the supply voltage has been turned on, the
plant/machine must be tested for proper functioning:
• Activate each of the sensing devices.
• Check the response of the switching device.
The safety system must be regularly and professionally inspected.
The inspection must be documented in such a way as to be reproducible.
The plant/machine manufacturer's requirements must be taken into consideration and observed.
