Check the range of the remote-control transmitter and of the control functions.
CAUTION!
Never operate the model with a remote control unit operating in a faulty manner.
Range of the remote-control transmitter
To maintain secure control over the model, before each start and especially after a crash, you should check the functioning
and range of the RC system. Testing the functioning of the steering servo will suffice to do so.
If the remote-control system should not work acceptably, check the charging level of the rechargeable batteries for the trans-
mitter and receiver and refresh the link between the transmitter and receiver.
>
Prop up the model such that the wheels are suspended freely in the air. Due to the static friction of the tyres on the ground,
the steering would react too slowly if not suspended.
>
Go about 50 m away from the propped up model.
>
Test the steering function as described below.
Control function of steering
>
Put the steering wheel and the respective trimming in the neutral position.
>
Switch on the transmitter.
>
Switch on the receiver with the switch on the front top deck.
>
Turn the steering wheel to the left and the right. The wheels of the model should also turn
to the left and the right.
If the wheels turn in the opposite direction, put the reverse switch for the steering func-
tion on the transmitter in the other position.
>
When you release the steering wheel, the wheels should turn back into the straight-ahead
position.
>
If the wheels are not exactly straight in the zero position of the steering wheel, correct the
position on the trim control for the steering function (channel 1).
>
The end stops of the steering wheel should actuate the end stops to the right/left of the steering!
Control function of speed control system
>
Put the accelerator/brake lever and the respective trimming in the neutral position.
When the remote control lever is in the neutral position, the motor must not start up.
>
If necessary, bring the motor to a standstill using the trim on the transmitter.
>
Move the accelerator/brake lever on the remote control forward. The rotating speed of the motor should change infinitely
variably.
>
Then move the remote control lever backwards to check brake and reverse travel mode.
>
If the wheels turn in the wrong direction, use the servo reverse switch on the transmitter to correct the running direction.

Comply with the safety instructions in these Operating Instructions for driving operation.
Familiarise yourself with the driving behaviour of the model step-by-step.
>
Stand behind the model and first drive it away from you. The reaction of the model to the steering will then be the same
as if you were sitting at the wheel yourself.
>
Then make the model drive toward you. The direction in which it reacts is then mirror-reversed to the direction of control.
>
Then begin with simple driving exercises by driving in an "eight" pattern, forming circles as equal to one another as pos-
sible.
>
Use lightweight cones that are not fastened as limits and turn markers to mark out a course with changing directions to
drive in so as to practice making curves.
>
Gradually increase the speed and observe the handling.
>
Always maintain direct eye contact with the model.
>
Select an appropriate fail-safe setting to keep the model from getting damaged in case the transmitter fails or in case of
receiver interference.
