5. Main te nance
5.1 Gen eral in for ma tion

Only carry out main te nance with the en gine switched off.

Only the main te nance work which has to be per formed
daily is in cluded in the Op er at ing Man ual. Please re fer to
the en gine Op er at ing Man ual and to the main te nance in -
struc tions and in ter vals listed therein.

Be fore car ry ing out main te nance work, re move the spark
plug con nec tor.
•
Clean the en gine and ma chine prior to car ry ing out main -
te nance work.
•
Park the ma chine on a level sur face and se cure to pre vent
roll ing and slip ping.
•
En sure that fu els, lu bri cants and re place ment parts are
dis posed of in a safe and en vi ron men tally ac cept able
man ner.
•
Avoid short-cir cuits on cur rent-car ry ing ca bles.
•
When clean ing the ma chine with a high-pres sure wa ter
jet, do not aim the jet di rectly at elec tri cal com po nents.
•
Af ter wash ing, blow com po nents dry with com pressed
air to pre vent creepage cur rents.
