NOTE:
The menu is described with the selected language "ENG-
LISH" in the instruction manual.
General operation
Switch the device on/off
• Switch the device on by setting the ON OFF switch on
the back of the device to ON.
• Standby / On: Now you can switch the device between
Standby and On. Press the STBY/FUNC button in order
to do so. Keep the STBY/FUNC pressed for approx. 2
seconds to switch the unit off. The time and the date ap-
pear on the display in standby.
• To switch off the device, set the ON OFF switch to OFF.
The date and time will be lost by doing so. These will be
automatically synchronized the next time a radio station
plays. If the received radio station does not transmit the
date and time, set them manually. See section on "Set-
tings menu".
NOTE:
• The unit stores the last operating mode before switch-
ing off (standby mode). After switching back on, the
unit starts in this operating mode.
• The storage of the time/ date will get lost as soon as
the device has been shut off with the ON OFF switch,
or if the power supply is interrupted.
• In AUX mode: After approx. 15 minutes without a
signal, the unit will switch automatically to standby.

Adjust to your preferred volume level.
Delayed shut-off (SLEEP)
The device automatically switches off when the selected time
is reached.
• Keep the MENU/SLEEP button (6) pressed. "SET SLEEP
TIME SLEEP OFF" appears on the display. Use the UP/
DOWN buttons (15/13) to select the time after which the
unit should switch off. Select from: 10, 20, 30, 60, 90 and
120 minutes.
• The SLEEP OFF setting deactivates this function.
NOTE:
• If the function is activated, the "
on the display.
• Keep the MENU/SLEEP pressed briefly to display the
remaining time.
Display light
Use the LIGHT / ALARM/SNOOZE button (3) to select three
different brightness levels for the display. The settings are:
bright, medium and dark (off).
NOTE: In operation
After approx. 3 minutes, the display is automatically
dimmed to the "dark" setting. Press any button to increase
the display light again.
Listening to the radio
Scan FM stations
1. Repeatedly press STBY/FUNC button (7) until the display
shows "FM MODE".
2. You have two options for tuning a station:

3. If the reception is too weak and there is noise on the re-
ceived station, try to improve the reception by changing
the position of the telescopic antenna.
Show FM information
Press the INFO button (11) to show the following information,
if broadcasted by a radio station.
• Radio Text is shown by default on the display. If no
information is available, [No RadioText] appears on the
display.
• The program type (PTY) of the station is displayed (e.g.
Pop music, news etc.). If no PTY is received, [No PTY] ap-
pears on the display.
• Display of the radio frequency.
• Display the time.
• Display the date.
Scan DAB stations
Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) is a digital broad casing
standard for terrestrial reception of digital radio. A list of radio
stations which can be received in Germany is available on the
Internet at www.digitalradio.de.
NOTE:
In Germany approx. 70% of the country' s area is covered by
digital radio broadcasts (as of Nov. 2011). In the individual
areas however, coverage and provision vary greatly. If the
DAB stations in your region cannot be received or only with
interferences depending on location, in this case you can

switch to the FM band to receive this station. This is only
possible however if these stations are broadcast via VHF.

1. Press the STBY/FUNC button (7) repeatedly until "DAB
MODE" appears on the display.
Press the UP/DOWN buttons (15/13).
Press the SCAN button (5). Depending on which but-
ton you have already pressed (UP or DOWN), the unit
scans to the next or previous station.
