i5 Interface Overview

To connect the UPS to an i5 you need:

Follow the instructions included with the Relay Interface Card and Cable
Kit to install the card and set UPS monitoring functions in i5/OS
Installation may include removal of an existing X-Slot card from the UPS.
Connect the cables as shown in Figure 43.

(labeled 152601975-001), located in the FC 2936 carton labeled
"Cable Kit for IBM iSeries"
An IBM-supplied UPS interface cable (labeled 1827), included with
the server
