Communication Options

If you want the UPS to communicate with your computer, use Table 18
to determine which communication option is correct for your application.

Follow the installation instructions with the Software Suite CD or the
applicable card kit. This section shows the communication option
overviews. For additional information and a current listing of supported
operating systems, go to www.powerware.com.
If you connect your computer to the UPS and use the Software Suite
CD, you can configure the UPS to recognize the number of EBMs
installed:

Verify that your computer is connected to the UPS communication
port using the supplied cable.
Install the Virtual Front Panel software from the supplied Software
Suite CD.
Configure the Virtual Front Panel software for the correct
communication port (COM1 or COM2) on your PC.
Select the Battery tab, then select the number of EBMs you are
using from the pull-down menu (you can choose up to four EBMs).
Click OK and close the software.
