2 General Information
This Instruction Manual is an important part of this equipment and is aimed at the
personnel operating and maintaining the vacuum packaging machines. It contains
information about the machines and their proper use. Above all it serves to
safeguard users and the environment.
It is the duty of each user to familiarise themselves with the contents of the
Instruction Manual and to adhere exactly to all instructions relating to safety.
In addition, the rules and regulations governing the prevention of accidents must
also be observed for the operating site.
The most important safety instructions are summarized in the chapter headed
"General Safety Instructions". Additional information in other chapters is identified
clearly with the corresponding symbols.
This manual must be preserved carefully.
2.1

Intended use

The vacuum packaging machines are intended solely for the packaging of food and
technical products under vacuum.
The machine is a technical working appliance and is designed exclusively for work.
Any use above and beyond this purpose is deemed improper.
KOMET will not be liable for any resulting damage.
Intended use also includes

compliance with all instructions contained in the manual and

observance of the inspection and maintenance work.
The following are not authorised for packaging: hazardous materials, in particular
materials which are combustible, easily ignitable, temperature and pressure-
sensitive, easy to melt, explosive, aggressive, poisonous or infectious and live
creatures and materials whose processing infringes law, general practice or good
morals.

Warranty and liability

The warranty period is 12 months from delivery of the equipment.
The limitation period also applies for claims to damages for consequential losses
unless the customer can assert claims arising from unlawful action.
The guarantee covers material and manufacturing faults which occur under normal
stresses (single layer mode).
Only use original spare parts of the company KOMET, otherwise the guarantee will
be null and void.
In the event of a guarantee claim, please return the faulty part carriage-paid together
with a copy of the invoice and a description of the complaint.
Our "General Terms of Sale and Delivery (VLB)" apply in principle.
Warranty and liability claims in the case of personal injury or material damage are
excluded if they arise from one or more of the following causes:

Improper use of the machine.

Inexpert assembly, commissioning, operation, maintenance and repairs of the
machine.

Operation of the machine in the case that safety and protective devices are
defective, not properly attached or not functioning.

Non-observance of the instructions in the manual relating to the transport,
storage, assembly, putting into operation, operation, maintenance and setting up
of the machine.

Unauthorized structural modifications to the machine.

Catastrophes due to the effects of foreign bodies and acts of God.

Attrition.
