Fitting external accessories
Protecting the end positions against uncontrolled overrunning
Check whether proximity switches are necessary (as safety limit switches or
S
hardware limit switches).
When using proximity switches as limit switches:
Use proximity switches with normally−clo
S
sed contacts. (N.C.=normally closed)
These will protect a DMES−... with a
fractured proximity switch cable against
overrunning the end position.
When using proximity switches as reference switches:
Use proximity switches with normally−
S
open contacts in the PNP" design.
(N.O.=normally open)
If you are using magnetically−actuated proximity switches
Use the grooves in accordance with Fig. 24.

Note that the magnet is situated asym
S
metrically on the inner slide (on the side
facing away from the motor).
Avoid external influence caused by mag
S
netic or ferritic parts in the vicinity of the
proximity switches (at least 10 mm gap
from the sliding blocks).
