Position the camera so that no direct light or sunshine falls on the lens.
Avoid strong back lighting behind the visitor: in this case, the person
appears darker on the image. Check the camera image before mounting.
Provisionally connect and commission the device and hold the outdoor
station in the desired position. If necessary, change the camera position
until you have found the desired view. Remember that the position of the
sun changes.

The camera has infra red illumination [45] for the close range. This is
activated by the daylight sensor [43]. You can improve the quality of the
image at night by using additional illumination.
!
If you want to install the outdoor station outdoors, it must be protected
against direct rainfall. The mains adapter must be in a dry location. The
connection to the mains adapter cable must be protected against moisture.
!
Ensure that there is a possible cable routing for the mains adapter cable at
the installation location.
!
If a door release is required note that this requires a power supply. It is
possible to switch a typical door release with a rating of max. 1.5 A at max.
15 V AC or DC using an external power supply. Alternatively a 12 V DC door
release with a rating of max. 500 mA can be powered from the supplied
mains adapter for the outdoor station (see Fig. B and C). Refer also to the
manual of the door release.
Use of the antenna cable (see Fig. D)
In order to optimise the wireless connection it is recommended to install the
antenna on the inside of the wall. A hole for the antenna cable and if required
also for the mains adapter and door release cable above the outdoor station is
necessary.
Indoor station:

The maximum range of the wireless signal is approx. 100m (and up to
150m in optimal conditions) with line of sight contact between the indoor
station and the antenna of the outdoor station. Within buildings the range
is greatly reduced by walls and floors, in particular those made of steel
reinforced concrete, to a maximum of 20 m. Metal housings, shelves, thick
glasing and mirrors also block the wireless signal.

The wireless transmission can also be affected by strong electric fields and
other wireless equipment. Ensure an adequate distance to microwave
ovens, cordless phones, mobile phones, router, wireless devices in the
2.4 GHz frequency band (eg. WiFi), electric motors and high voltage
devices or power cables.

The indoor station must be placed on a solid and level surface, ideally 1 -
1,5 m above the floor (optimal reception). Alternatively it can be mounted
on a wall.
!
Place the indoor station in a central position in the dwelling, eg. in the
hallway. Make sure that the chime can be heard throughout the dwelling.
!
If wall mounting is desired, arrange the indoor station at face height so
that you can observe the monitor and can communicate using the hands-
free system. Directly opposite or slightly down onto the monitor are the best
viewing directions. Take account of the height of all residents including
children when determining the mounting height.

Note that when the mains adapter is used, there must be a suitable power
outlet within reach of the mains adapter cable with the extension cable.
8. Installation and connection of the outdoor
station
!
Remove the outdoor station [41] from the mounting bracket [63].
!
Hold the mounting bracket in the desired location, mark through the four
mounting holes[65]and drill 5mm holes. Fix four wall plugs[76]in the holes.
!
If the antenna [35] is to be located on the inside of the wall (see Fig. D),
mark a drill hole through the upper hole [64] in the mounting bracket and
drill a 6-8 mm hole for the antenna cable [72]. Feed the antenna cable
through this hole such that the 90° connector is on the outside. If the mains
adapter [69] is also to be used, then feed the connection cable [37]
through the same hole such that the bare ends are on the side of the
outdoor station. If one or two door releases (not supplied) are to be
connected, feed the door release cable(s) [38/39] also through this hole.

If the antenna [35] is to be mounted directly on the outdoor station and the
mains adapter [69] or a door release (not supplied) is to be used, mark a
drill hole through the lower hole [66] in the mounting bracket and drill a
5-7 mm hole. Feed the connection cable [37] through the same hole such
that the bare ends are on the side of the outdoor station. If one or two door
releases (not supplied) are to be connected, feed the door release cable(s)
[38/39] also through this hole.

Fix the mounting bracket to the wall using four screws [75] and wall plugs
[76].
!
If batteries are to be used:
!
Release the seven screws [53], without removing them fully from the
cover [49].
!
Lever the cover from the outdoor station.
!
Insert 6 pcs. AA alkaline batteries (not supplied) into the battery
compartment [55], paying attention to the polarity. Do not use
rechargeable batteries.
!
Refix the cover onto the outdoor station with the seven screws.
!
Lever the cover carefully from the door bell button [47 – a spare cover [73]
is also supplied], remove the name plate and write the family name as
required, before reassembling. A spare name plate [74] is also supplied.
!
When connecting the mains adapter [69] and / or a door release:
!
Remove the two screws [52] from the cover [51].
!
Lever the cover from the outdoor station.
!
Break as many breakpoints in the seal [50] as you have connection
cables and run these cables through these openings.
!
To connect the mains adapter screw the bare ends of the connecting
cable [37] to the power connection terminals (red/black to DC-[59],
red to DC+[60]).
!
To connect a door release connect the wires of the connection cable
[38/39] to the door release terminals [61/62] or to the gate release
terminals [57/58] (see Fig. B and C).
!
Refix the cover with the two screws to the outdoor station.
!
If the antenna cable is not used, remove the seal from the antenna hole
[68] in the mounting bracket.
!
Screw the antenna or the 90° connecter of the antenna cable onto the
antenna connection [48].
!
Fix the outdoor station into the mounting bracket as follows:

If fixed, push the antenna through the underside of the antenna hole
[68].
