INTRODUCTION
2.1

INSTRUCTION MANUAL

This instruction manual was designed to assist you in the
operation and maintenance of the FastMelt 650 Thermoplastic
Melting Station and all parts associated with it.
This manual was designed as a reference for owners and
operators of the FastMelt 650 to provide information on the
proper use, maintenance and repair of the unit.
It is understood that not all situations will be covered in this
manual. Contact Titan for further inquiries.
2.2

MACHINE DESIGN

Titan's FastMelt Propane Fired Kettle is engineered to provide
high-quality, unmatched performance through fast melting,
accurate temperature maintenance, and monitoring.
FastMelt 650 units are built to efficiently and homogenously
melt thermoplastic marking materials supplied in either block
or granular forms, and with a "flame-out"-proof pilot system,
the kettles can perform continuious agitation.

regarding the FastMelt kettle. Should you have any questions
or concerns, please contact Titan.

BEFORE GETTING STARTED

It is recommended that one individual be assigned to operate
this machine, so as to make that person familiar with the overall
safety and maintenance of the system. It is important that all
persons operating this machine read this manual to familiarize
themselves with the equipment.

KETTLE INSTALLATION

Kettles should be properly secured to a metal trailer or truck
bed floor plate.
Weight is an approximation based on heated
i
thermoplastic weighing 15 pounds per gallon.
Thermoplastic formulation weights per gallon
can vary +/- 20%.

PROPANE GAS CONNECTIONS

Use a minimum of one (1) 100 pound tank for
i
propane supply with a pressure gauge capable
of reading up to 300 PSI.
2.6

PRE-OPERATION CHECK

Peform the following steps prior to using the
i
FastMelt.
1. Check hydraulic fluid level at tank sight gauge. Use #46
hydraulic fluid or equivalent. Check for leaks in the line.
2. Check engine oil level in the Honda engine. Service with
SAE #30 oil. Check engine air cleaner. Change oil at least
every 24 engine working hours, or every week.
3. Check Liquid Propane (LP) gas fittings from main gas
supply tank to engine and kettle burner.
