5.9 Changing the speed with or
without displacing the pitch
The slider PITCH CONTROL (25) allows chang-
ing the speed up to ±100 %:
+100 % = double speed
-100 % = standstill
1) Select the adjusting range with the button
RANGE (26). The text line (Q) briefly shows
the adjustment:
Pitch 8 %
Pitch 16 %
,
,
Pitch off
when the speed control has
been deactivated again and the title is
replayed in standard speed.
2) Adjust the speed with the slider. The display
shows the percentage deviation from the
standard speed on the top right (l). The num-
ber of beats (T) changes accordingly.
3) When you change the speed, the pitch also
changes proportionally. For a constant pitch,
press the button MT (27). The display shows
MT (U). To deactivate the function, press the
button once again.
5.10 Pitch Bend – Matching the beat
between two music pieces
When using two CD / MP3 players, it is possible
to synchronize the beat of two music pieces with
the same speed. Thus, the dancing rhythm is not
interrupted when crossfading from one player to
the other one.
1) First use the speed control (25) to match the
speed of the music piece to which crossfad-
ing is desired to the speed of the current
music piece. For this purpose, use the slider
to adjust the same number of beats per
minute, see insertion (T) on the right at the
bottom of the display.
2) Synchronize the beats of the music piece to
which crossfading is desired to the beats of
the current music piece with the buttons
PITCH BEND (23): As long as you keep the
button + or - pressed, the title is faster or
slower. Thus, the beats are displaced with
regard to the beats of the current music
piece.
3) The beats may also be displaced by turning
the jog wheel (12). For this, neither the LED
SEARCH nor the LED SCRATCH above the
button JOG MODE (11) should light up; if
they light up, press the button JOG MODE
once or twice.

5.11 Effects

Various effects are available for a creative music
programme.

5.11.1 Reverse replay

For reverse replay, press the button REVERSE
(22). In MP3 mode, the reverse replay always
ends at the beginning of the title. To return to for-
ward replay, press the button REVERSE once
again.

5.11.2 Scratch effects

To create Scratch effects (corresponding to
manual turning of the turntable platter), press the
button JOG MODE (11) once or twice so that the
LED SCRATCH above the button lights up. Turn
the jog wheel (12) back and forth accordingly.
When turning, touch the roughened surface of
the jog wheel, otherwise there is only a droning
effect. To deactivate the effect, press the button
SCRATCH once again.
Note: If, after activating the Scratch effect, the replay of
the current title stops or does not stop when you touch
the jog wheel, change the touch sensitivity of the jog
wheel.
