3 Applications

The DMP-230 is designed for replaying MP3 audio
files from memory cards and USB storage devices
(e. g. USB flash drive, USB hard disk with separate
power supply). Equipped with two player sections,
this unit is ideally suited for a wide range of PA
applications.

4 Setting Up and Connecting the Unit

The unit is designed for installation into a rack
(482 mm / 19"); however, it can also be used as a
table-top unit. For installation into a rack, it requires
1 RS (RS = rack space = 44.45 mm).
Prior to making or changing any connections,
switch off the DMP-230 and the units to be con-
nected.
1) Connect the outputs (16 – 19) of the two player
sections to two line inputs (e. g. of a mixer or an
amplifier). According to the jacks provided on
the subsequent unit, either use the XLR jacks
(17, 19) or the RCA jacks (16, 18). It is also pos-
sible to use the XLR jacks and the RCA jacks at
the same time, e. g. to feed the signals of the
MP3 player to two units.
2) Use the mains cable provided to connect the
mains jack (20) of the MP3 player to a mains
socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
5 Operation
The operation of the two player sections is identi-
cal.
1) Switch on the unit with the POWER switch (1).
With neither a memory card inserted nor a USB
storage device connected, the display will indi-
cate:

2) To replay audio files from a memory card, insert
the card (notched corner to the right and facing
the unit) into the slot SD (6) until it engages. To
remove the card, push the card into the slot until
it disengages.
3) To replay audio files from a USB storage device,
connect, for example, a USB flash drive or a
USB hard disk to the USB port

single partition only and that it is supplied with
power via a separate power supply unit.
4) After loading the USB storage device or the
memory card, the display will indicate:

5) Press the button
There will be various indications on the display
for information, see fig. 2 and chapter 1. To
pause and continue the replay, press the button
. To set the volume, use the corresponding
control LEVEL (2).
6) To go to another title, briefly press the button
or
forward within a title, keep the corresponding
button pressed.
7) To select a preset equalizer setting, press the
button EQ (15) repeatedly. The setting will
briefly appear in the second line on the left of the
display (
8) To repeat a title (several times), press the button
REPEAT (11). The display will indicate
instead of
the button once again.
9) With both a memory card inserted and a USB
storage device connected, use the button USB /
SD (5) to switch over between these two media.
10) To stop the replay, press the button
