12.1.1 Setup/process

Figure 1: ALIGN setup – Horizontal
Two grades can be set automatically in the X and Y axis with the
laser system Vision 2N ALIGN and the detector TE 90 ALIGN.
First set up the static head horizontally, as described under Section
4 and set the laser in the Y direction flush with the first target point
M2 (Figure 1). Use the telescopic sight (option) if the determined
grade values are to be as accurate as possible.
Then set up the laser yardstick with the detector as short a distance
away from the laser as possible (Figure 1: M1 reference height) and
switch on both devices as described in Sections 1 and 11.2 and
place the detector centre level with the laser beam.
The purpose of this dimension is to serve as the reference
height for the entire measurement and may not be altered again.
Set up detector/laser yardstick at the target point M2 and record the
initial grade of the Y axis. (See Table 2)
Important: To obtain accurate grade values, the first inclina-
tion position point must lie exactly on the Y axis of the laser.
The telescope available from THEIS is definitely recommended
for this.
