Using the IAQ Probe Software

Getting Started

When you first start the IAQ Probe software, the Auto Scan Feature
window appears (superimposed) on the main screen, scanning for a
IAQ Probe within range.
If you cancel this command or you are continuing to work (uploading
data from several IAQ Probes) in the Config screen, you can also click
Connect/Refresh
Since the IAQ Probe software is designed to manage data received
from the IAQ Probe, its functions are disabled when there is no
communication link between software and hardware.

Connecting a IAQ Probe to the Computer

• Power on the IAQ Probe and wait until it has completed the
initialization sequence ("init" is displayed in the window).
• Position the unit in front of the infrared reader (at a distance of
less than one metre). After a few seconds, an icon appears in
the lower right corner of your computer screen (or a beep is emitted
from the computer speaker) confirming that the IAQ Probe has
been detected by the computer.
• Open the IAQ Probe Software by clicking on Start/Program/
Honeywell/Honeywell IAQ Probe.
Note: Your computer must already be on. If the IAQ Probe was already
in position in front of the infrared port as your computer was
booting up, you may experience problems with the
communication link.
All IAQ Probe software functions are now enabled ("irdA" appears in the
IAQ Probe's display screen, confirming the communication link.)
