Hazard warnings for working on fuel systems
Before opening fuel circuit connections:
• Switch off the engine
• Switch off the ignition
• The electric fuel pump must not be running
Escaping fuel:
• Must be collected in suitable vessels
• Must not be allowed to run onto hot engine components
• Must not be allowed to come into contact with the skin or eyes
• Never inhale gasoline vapors
• Switch on extraction system
On completion of testing and repair work:
• Visually inspect the fuel system for leaks
• Perform a standard test drive
• Check starting performance and operation with the engine warm
2. Applications of the Jetronic set
The new Jetronic set 0 986 615 110 supersedes the previous portable Jetronic set 0
986 615 100. Several special tools have been added and the hose plug-in system
introduced. With the drain valves on the two pressure gauges, the new set meets
higher safety standards.
The versatile connecting elements permit the performance of all pressure measure-
ments and leak tests on fuel, intake manifold and cooling systems.
Examples:
• Low-pressure single point injection systems, Mono-Jetronic or Mono-Motronic.
• Gasoline injection systems, K/ KE, L-Jetronic, Motronic or non-Bosch.
• Intake manifold systems on naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines.
