1. General
1.1 Environmental aspects
Dispose of packaging materials at the appropriate collection points for recy-
cling.
Handle and dispose of residual fuel in accordance with the applicable legisla-
tion and the technical regulations governing hazardous substances
(TRGS).
In countries other than Germany, attention is to be paid to the appropriate lo-
cal regulations.
1.2 Safety instructions
The following safety instructions do not claim to be exhaustive and only relate
to work performed directly on the vehicle.
It is assumed that the personnel working on the vehicle/system will be appro-
priately qualified and carry out the work conscientiously and in the proper man-
ner.
Before starting repair and maintenance work, switch off the engine and secure
the vehicle to prevent unauthorized use.
Take care when running the engine.
The exhaust gases are highly toxic.
Moving parts can cause extremely serious injuries.
Attention:
As the tests involve running the engine, it is imperative to set up the test
equipment and in particular the display unit such that the operator is well out
of the range of rotating parts.
Wear safety goggles
Fuel escaping due to leakage could cause serious injury on coming into con-
tact with parts of the body.
