7. NOTES ON BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES
In principle, it is possible to operate the weather station and the outdoor
sensor with rechargeable batteries.
However, the lower voltage of rechargeable batteries (rechargeable battery
= 1.2 V, battery = 1.5 V) and their lesser capacity reduces the operating time
and the radio range. Moreover, the accumulators are more temperature sensi-
tive than batteries. If you want to use rechargeable batteries in spite of these
limitations, use special NiMH batteries with a low self-discharge.
We recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure long
and safe operation.
The weather station requires 2 AA/mignon batteries. The outdoor sensor
also requires 2 batteries type AA/mignon.

Batteries/rechargeable batteries have no place in the hands of children.

Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable
batteries (pay attention to plus and minus!).

Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying about openly. There is a
risk that the batteries can be swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult
a doctor immediately.

Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause chemical burns
to skin when touched without the use of adequate protective gloves.

Make sure that (rechargeable) batteries are not short-circuited or thrown into
the fire. There is a danger of explosion!

Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a danger of
explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries intended for this purpose; use a
suitable battery charger.

If not used for a longer period (e.g. in case of storage), remove the inserted
batteries/accumulators. Old batteries/rechargeable batteries can leak and cause
damage on the product; loss of guarantee/warranty!
