Making connections
Connect the miniKORG-700FS as appropriate for your audio system.

Be sure that the power on all of your devices is turned off before you make
connections. Leaving the power on when you make connections may cause
malfunctions, or damage your speaker system and other components.
Connecting to a computer or MIDI device
When using the instrument by connecting to a computer such as
DAW, use the USB terminal to connect. To play this instrument
using an external MIDI device, connect to the MIDI IN terminal.
In order to use a USB connection, you'll need to install the Korg USB-
MIDI driver on your computer. Download the "Korg USB-MIDI driver"
from the Korg website (www.korg.com), and install it as described in the
accompanying documentation.
Connecting the AC adapter
1. Connect the DC plug of the included AC adapter to the DC 12V jack on
the rear panel of the miniKORG-700FS.
Be sure to use only the included AC adapter. Using any other AC adapter
may cause malfunctions.
2. After connecting the DC plug, loop the AC adapter cord onto the Cord Hook.
Do not use excessive force when pulling the cord off the hook. Doing so
may damage the plug.
3. Connect the plug of the AC adapter to an AC outlet.
Be sure to use an AC outlet of the correct voltage for your AC adapter.
Turning the power On/Off
Turning the miniKORG-700FS On
1. Make sure that both the miniKORG-700FS and any amplification
devices such as powered monitor speakers are turned off, and turn the
volume of all devices all the way down.
2. Hold down the rear-panel Power switch.
3. Turn on any amplification devices such as powered monitor speakers,
and then adjust their volume. Adjust the miniKORG-700FS's volume
using the VOLUME slider.
Turning the miniKORG-700FS Off
1. Lower the volume of your powered monitors or other amplification
devices, and turn them off.
2. Set the power switch to STANDBY.
Auto Power Off function
When shipped from the factory, this instrument is configured so that
the power is automatically turned off when the front panel, top panel,
keyboard, or MIDI input have not been operated for four hours.

To disable the Auto Power Off function, set it in Global mode
(
p.13 "Other settings (Global mode)" ).
Switching and storing the tone program
This instrument provides two banks: A (the LED lamp lights up red), and
B (the LED lamp lights up blue). Each bank has seven tone programs
(14 tone programs in total.) They can all be edited and stored.
Calling a tone program
1. Press the BANK button to switch between bank A and bank B.
2. To change the tone program, press the desired program buttons (1 to 7).
TIP: The tone in the same bank can be switched using only the program buttons.
Editing a tone program
1. Move the knob or slider on the panel to create the tone you want.
TIP: Pressing the PANEL button reflects the knob or slide status at that time
on the program setting.
Storing a tone program
1. Hold down the WRITE button. The LED lamps of program buttons 1 to
7 flash.
2. Select the storage location. To store the target program in the same
bank, press the desired program button (1 to 7). To store the target
program in a different bank, press the BANK button, and press the
desired program button (1 to 7).
The tone program in the storage location is overwritten. Note that you
cannot cancel the operation.
Master tune setting
You can save the pitch that you tuned before playing and recall it
when you need it.
Saving the master tune
1. Press and hold the BANK button. (The BANK button flashes).
2. Move the PITCH slider to adjust the pitch.
3. Press the WRITE button to save the master tune and return to the
normal mode.
To cancel the operation, press the BANK button without pressing the
WRITE button.
Recalling the master tune
1. Press and hold the BANK button.
2. Press the PANEL button to recall the saved master tune and return to
the normal mode.
If no master tune is saved, this instrument returns to the normal mode
automatically.
