SMART 200 MP SYNER
5. ANOMALIES. PROBABLE CAUSES. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.
SYMPTOM. ANOMALY
GENERAL PROBLEM.
NOTHING WORKS.
LIMITER JUMPS.
THE EQUIPMENT
MAKES "NOISE".
THE DISPLAY IS
SWITCHED ON, BUT
THE DEVICE DOES NOT
WELD.
ELECTRODE BURNS IN
TIG WELDING
THERE IS ABNORMAL
HEATING OF THE
EQUIPMENT.
THERMAL PROTECTION
IS FAST-ACTING
INTERVENTION ON THE EQUIPMENT MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY SPECIALISED PERSONNEL.
BOTH AT THE BEGINNING AND AT THE END OF A REPAIR CHECK THE INSULATION LEVELS OF THE EQUIPMENT.
The insulation tester shall be of 500 V D.C. voltage and shall be applied at the following points of the circuit:
- Power supply - Earth: Ra > 50 Mohms.
- Welding - Earth: Ra > 50 Mohms.
- Power - Welding: Ra > 50 Mohms.

PROBABLE CAUSE.
The machine lacks voltage to some or
all of its vital elements.
Incorrect supply voltage.
Faulty ON/OFF switch.
Loose or loose faceplate connector.
Magneto-thermal switch rating too
low for the case. There may be a
short-circuit which causes the limiter to
trip.
Loose metal housing.
Faulty electrical connections.
Damaged or improperly fastened fan. Check fan.
Temperature
Display indicates Err 02.
Excessive welding current for a given
electrode.
Use of reverse polarity.
Lack of shielding gas.
The equipment is positioned in such a
way as to prevent proper ventilation.
The fan does not work.
The equipment is located in a very
warm environment.
There is a loose connection internally. Check electrical power connections.
DISCONNECT ELECTRONIC BOARDS WHEN MEASURING INSULATION.
BLOW COMPRESSED AIR INTO THE EQUIPMENT.
BEFORE SWITCHING ON THE EQUIPMENT, CHECK THAT IT IS EMPTY.
DO NOT OPERATE THE ON/OFF SWITCH WITH AN ELECTRICAL LOAD
ATTACHED TO THE WELDING CONNECTORS.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION.
Check that the voltage at the machine input is
present; if not, replace the socket or repair the
supply hose. It is advisable to observe if there is
a "jumped" circuit breaker.
Check supply voltage.
Replace ON/OFF switch.
Fit faceplate connector correctly.
rating. If the electrical installation is of limited
power, you should try to carry out the welding
work at lower current levels.
Check and tighten the housing.
Tighten the connections correctly.
Equipment overheated, wait for the equipment to
protection
active.
cool down. Do not switch off, let the fan run.
Supply voltage outside the nominal range.
Change power supply socket.
Reduce welding current or replace electrode with
one of larger diameter.
Attach the electrode to the negative pole.
Regulate at an adequate flow rate.
Locate the equipment in an area where there is
air renewal.
Replace fan.
Avoid a location with direct sun exposure.
