3.4. STANDARD MIG WELDING PROCESS (WITH GAS, POSITIVE TORCH).
Standard MIG processes (with gas, positive torch). Steps for the start-up of the equipment:
1) Prepare the equipment: Connect the MIG welding torch to the Euro connector, set the polarity change F to the
positive pole and welding ground to the negative
turning clockwise. Set switch C to standard torch mode (STANDARD MODE).
2) Connect the mains plug to the mains and press J (main switch 0/I) to switch on the equipment.
3) Select the manual MIG welding process
4) Select the material and gas by pressing P2 .
5) Select the wire diameter (mm) by pressing P1 .
6) Install the wire. See section 3.3.
7) Adjust the welding power by turning the encoder E2:
•
Wire speed in manual MIG mode.
• Welding current in synergic MIG mode.
8) Set the welding voltage (arc length) by turning the encoder E1:
•
Welding voltage in manual MIG mode.
•
Synergic welding voltage correction in synergic MIG mode.
9) Set the MIG cycle control (torch pulse mode) by pressing P4 .
• 2T: 2-stroke. Welding starts when the torch trigger is pressed and stops when the trigger is released. Useful
for short welds.
•
4T: 4 strokes. Welding starts when the trigger is pulled, continues when the trigger is released and stops
when the trigger is pulled and released the next time. Useful for long welds.
•
SPOT: spot welding. Each torch pulse generates one spot weld. The time is defined in the function
which is set with P5
10) Set the available MIG functions by pressing P5
function setting menu.
11) Start welding.
