DTC -- Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), that show which area of emission control is not working.
OBD II driving cycle -- a special vehicle operating mode with which a state is to be achieved that is
required to move all readiness monitors relevant to the vehicle to the "Ready" state. A specific driving cycle
must be carried out after the DTCs have been erased from the PCM memory or after the battery has been
disconnected. Going through a complete driving cycle "switches" the readiness monitors "on", so that
future malfunctions can be determined. Driving cycles vary according to vehicle and monitor which must be
reset. You can find vehicle-specific driving cycles in the user handbook of your vehicle.
