Proper storage preparation is essential for keeping your grass/weed trimmer
trouble free and looking good. The following steps will help to keep rust and
corrosion from impairing your grass/weed trimmer.
CAUTION:
• If the grass/weed trimmer has been running, the engine will be very hot;
allow it to cool before proceeding.
• Place the grass/weed trimmer on a level surface and make sure that the
engine switch is in the OFF position to be certain the engine will not start
accidentally.
• Store the grass/weed trimmer with its flexible shaft kept as straight as
possible to prevent damage to it.
1. Clean all exterior surfaces, touch up any damaged paint, and coat other areas
that may rust with a light film of oil.
2. Drain the fuel.
Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under certain conditions. Do
not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the area.
a. Be sure that the engine oil filler cap is tightened securely.
b. Remove the fuel tank cap and drain the fuel into the container by tipping the
engine toward the fuel filler neck.
