Explanation of the bits:
Byte Z bit 0: Power supply for electronics is
smaller than 19.2 V or larger than 28.8 V
Byte Z bit 1: Power supply for valves is smaller
than 21.6 V or larger than 26.4 V
Byte Z bit 7: Communication to DDL module
disconnected.
Byte (Z + 1) - (Z + 4) bit 0–7: Short-circuit at output
or output is open (see description of the
parameters). Byte Z is the start address for the
diagnosis section of this DDL participant in the pilot
control.

3.4.3 Parameter

The valve terminal system provides these functions
to the DDL bus module. The parameter bytes can be
used depending on the type of field bus system. The
valve terminal system provides the bus module with
a 1-byte parameter.

A short-circuit is only noticable if the output is
being triggered. An open output is only noticable
if it is not being triggered.
Bit 1 = 0
Output-related diagnosis messages are only sent if
the output is triggered. No check of the available
coils is performed when the system is switched on.
If an output with no coil is being triggered, a
diagnosis message will be generated.
Bit 1 = 1
A single check of the available coils is run when the
system has been switched on. This information is
then transmitted to the pilot control as a diagnosis
message. This message can be compared with a
system configuration that has been stored in the
pilot control. (This function is only supported by
Profibus DP, the diagnosis data is transmitted
cyclically with other field bus systems).
