JOINING THE FLOATS
1.
Thread an M3 x 25 machine screw into each of the blind
nuts in both fl oats. If the screw binds, use a 3mm tap to
clear the threads.
2.
Check the two cross braces as they are drilled to fi t in
either the front or rear of the fl oats.
3.
Slide the front brace into position. Use two M3 x 25
socket head screws and a 2.5mm hex wrench to attach
the mounting bracket and brace in the fl oat. Leave the
screws loose until they are installed on the fuselage.
4.
Repeat the previous step to install the rear brace.
5.
The opposing fl oat can now be attached to the braces.
Make sure to use four M3 x 25 socket head screws and
the two mounting brackets when installing the braces.

Remove the end of one of the longer support braces. Slide
the tubing onto the brace, then place the end back on the
brace.
7.
Adjust the ends on the longer support braces so the
distance between the screws measures 17
(445mm).
8.
Attach the longer support braces in the holes in the cross
braces using four M3 x 12 socket head cap screws, four
3mm washers and four M3 lock nuts. Use a 2.5mm hex
wrench and 5.5mm nut driver to tighten the hardware.
9.
Adjust the ends on the four shorter support braces so
the distance between the screws measures 8
(206mm).
10. Use the diagram to position the nylon washers and the
rear diagonal brace when installing the support braces
to the mounting brackets. The rear diagonal brace has a
hole that is positioned near the bracket at the fl oat.
