Aqua-TR
❏ The homogeneity of water in the sample, depends on the
following:
- the relative humidity of the atmosphere,
- the moisture and the temperature of grain,
- the surface moisture of the grain.
❏ The biology of grains:
- Damp grains and in particular "CORN" evolve as soon as they are
harvested.
- The evolution of moisture is slow if the grain temperature is low
(below 12°C) and fast if the temperature is high (above 18°C).
- It is therefore advisable to measure moisture within 5 hours after
harvest on normal days and within 12 hours if the grain temperature
is below 12°C.
All the measurements on grains that are slightly fermented or are at
the beginning of this stage are subject to erroneous results
❏ Temperature:
The variation of the grain temperature affects the measurement of
electric value. The moisture meter corrects automatically these
effects, except if there is some condensation in the cell.
To avoid condensation in the apparatus or on the grain, keep the
Aqua-TR in an area where the ambient temperature is as close as
possible to that of average grain temperature.
■ immature grain:
The use of immature grain (particularly for barley and corn) can lead
to erroneous results.
