c) Performing the illumination measurement
• Remove the sensor protective cap (23) from the light sensor.
• Align the sensor surface as perpendicular as possible to the light source. Make sure you do not shade the sensor
with your fingers. This leads to measurement errors.
• The measured value appears on the display.
• T o switch the unit of measurement, press and hold down the "UNIT ▲" button for approx. 3 seconds. The unit of
measurement will then switch from "LUX" to "Ft-cd" and vice versa.
• The measurement range is set automatically.
• If "- - - -" appears on the display, the measurement range has been exceeded.
• Turn off the meter once the measurement is completed. Replace the sensor protective cap.

11. Measurement operation: temperature measurement

In order to obtain precise measured values, the meter must be adjusted to the ambient temperature.
Allow the device to adjust to the ambient temperature after relocation.
The measured temperature may only be applied to the temperature sensor. The specified operating
temperature of the meter must not be exceeded or fallen short of.
Put the meter into operation. After turning on, the meter is always in the last selected measurement function. After the
display test, the display should show "tP" and then °C or °F. If this is not the case, press and hold down the "FUNC-
TION" button for approx. 3 seconds. The measurement function is switched.
Remove the light sensor if it is connected to the meter.
Performing the temperature measurement
• The thermocouple of type K and the temperature unit °C are preset. If other parameters are required, be sure to set
them as described in chapter "Setup, c) System settings". Make sure that the setting of the thermocouple of type K
or J corresponds to the thermocouple used, otherwise this will lead to measurement errors.
• Insert the optional thermocouple sensor into the meter, observing the correct polarity. To do this, refer to chapter
"Setup - Connecting the thermocouple".
• The measured temperature value is displayed together with the unit (°C/°F) and the thermocouple type code (K/J).
• If "- - - - -" appears on the display, the measurement range has been exceeded or no sensor has been detected.
Check that the plug is inserted correctly and that the sensor cable is not damaged.
