SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Notice: The vibration value indicated was determined
with a standardized tool and can be used to make com-
parisons with other petrol equipment as well as tempo-
rary estimates of the load through the vibrations.
WARNING! The vibration value may vary according to
the usage of the machine and its fitted equipment, and be
higher than the one indicated. Safety measures must be
established to protect the user and must be based on the
load estimate generated by the vibrations in real usage
conditions. In this regard, all the operational cycle phases
must be taken into consideration, such as switching off
or idle running.
Warning: Prolonged exposure to vibrations can cause in-
juries and neurovascular disorders (also called "Renaud's
syndrome"or "white hand"), especially to people suffering
from circulation disorders. The symptoms can regard the
hands, wrists and fingers and are shown through loss
of sensitivity, torpor, itching, pain and discolouring of or
structural changes to the skin. These effects can be wors-
ened by low ambient temperatures and/or by gripping the
handgrips excessively tightly. If the symptoms occur, the
length of time the machine is used must be reduced and
a doctor consulted.
When working with the device, a certain level of noise
cannot be avoided. Noisy work should be scheduled for
hours, during which it is allowed by statute or other lo-
cal regulations. Adhere to any applicable rest times and
limit your working time to the necessary minimum time.
For your personal protection and the protection of people
nearby, suitable hearing protection must be worn.
Noise emission information in accordance with the Ger-
man Product Safety Act (ProdSG) and the EC Machine
Directive: the noise pressure level at the place of work
can exceed 80 dB(A). In such cases the operator will
require noise protection (e.g. wearing of ear protectors).
Please do also consider any local regulations
concerning noise protection!
Attention!
When using the machine certain safety precautions must
be implemented in order to avoid injuries and damage.
Therefore, read through these operating instructions /
safety instructions carefully. Store these safely so that
the information is always available to you. In the event of
the machine being handed on to another person, please
hand on these operating instructions / safety instruc-
tions too. We accept no liability for accidents or dam-
age caused as a result of disregarding these operating
instructions or the safety instructions.

Read all safety instructions and operating instruc-
tions. A failure to comply with the operating instructions
or safety instructions can lead to electric shocks, burns
and/or serious injuries.
Keep the safety instructions and operating instruc-
tions safely for future use.
Safety equipment
When working with the device the corresponding plastic
protective cover for the blade work or trimming line work
must be fitted in order to prevent objects being ejected
at high speed. The blade integrated into the protective
cover for the trimming line cuts the line automatically to
the optimum length.
1. Read the operating instructions carefully. Familiarise
yourself with the settings and the correct use of the
machine.
2. Never allow children or other persons who are not
familiar with the operating instructions to use the ma-
chine. Local regulations may stipulate a minimum age
for operators.
3. Never mow whilst other persons, in particular children
or animals, are nearby.
Warning:
Observe a safety distance of 15 m. If approached
switch the machine off immediately.

is responsible for accidents involving other people or
their property.

thrown.
3. Warning: Petrol is highly inflammable:
- Store petrol exclusively in containers intended for this
purpose.
- Only fill the tank outdoors and do not smoke whilst
filling the tank.
- Petrol should be filled in before starting the motor.
The tank sealing cap should not be opened and petrol
should not be filled in whilst the motor is running or
whilst the machine is still hot.
- If petrol overflows then do not try to start the motor. In-
stead, the machine should be removed from the area
where the petrol has been spilled. Do not attempt
to start the machine until the petrol vapour has dis-
sipated completely.
- For safety reasons petrol tanks and other tank con-
nections must be replaced if they are damaged.
4. Replace faulty silencers.
5. Before using carry out a visual check to ensure that
the cutting tools, fastening bolts and the complete
cutting unit are not worn out or damaged. In order
to avoid an imbalance worn out or damaged cutting
