c) Changing a tyre
Loosen the wheel nut (A), and then remove the wheel from
the axle (C).
When you remove the wheel, the large nut (B) may get
stuck in the rim or fall off the axle (C). If this occurs, ensure
that the drive pin (D) does not fall out and get lost.
When you replace the wheel, check that the drive pin (D)
is exactly in the middle of the axle (C) and inserted into the
corresponding groove in the large nut (B).
If the drive pin (D) is not attached, the torque cannot be
transferred from the engine to the wheel and the wheel
will spin freely.
Attach the new wheel, ensuring that the hex socket is in-
serted into the large nut (B) on the inside of the rim.
Screw the wheel and the wheel nut in place.
Ensure that the wheel nut (A) is correctly aligned. The
wheel nut is a locknut; there is a plastic insert on one side
of the nut. This must point outwards when the wheel nut
is tightened.
Do not use any force when tightening the wheel
nut, otherwise the wheel will not rotate freely,
which can damage the drive components.
