2.6.2 Image modalities

Optos multi-modal ultra-widefield retinal imaging enables the capture of posterior images, with a field of view of
up to 200 degrees in a single capture, and in an imaging time of less than 0.4 seconds.
Depending on the configuration of your device the following image modalities may be available:

opto map is an ultra-widefield (
opto map combines sensory and choroidal reflectance images and provides UWF image views from a single
capture action:
opto map color view – an UWF color fundus image combining red and green reflectance images.

opto map sensory view – an UWF green laser reflectance image of the surface retina.

opto map choroidal view – an UWF red laser reflectance image of the deeper retina.

is an UWF green laser auto fluorescence image.

opto map fa is an UWF fluorescein angiography (FA) image.

is an UWF indocyanine green (ICG) angiography image.
Combined opto map fa and opto map
Interweaved angiography is a device option that allows simultaneous capture of opto map
images. When in use, this feature alternates between opto map
capture of both studies in a single session.

opto map plus is generally used for medical imaging. opto map is captured at a standard resolution

and is typically used for healthy eye exams or screening applications.

2.6.3 System software

The system contains features to help you configure the system and to capture, review, archive and retrieve
images. The system software comprises:
Scan head software that enables capture of patient studies.

Image server 'middleware' that encodes patient studies for storage.
