Advice regarding the connection of
20-0005 / 20-0006 / 20-0018 and 20-0048:
Please begin by connecting speaker, micro-
phone and the buttons and while doing so,
please maintain a maximum possible distance
between speaker, microphone, the buttons and
the basic electronics. Please take note of the
advice on wiring, distances and cable length
starting on page 40. Please note: Buttons
may share the same return path (ground)!
1. Where required, connect the open door func-
tion to relay 1. (Relay = voltage free contact:
only switches power to the open door function,
does not provide an electric potential (use clos-
ing contact). The open door function requires
an individual circuit. Relay 2 is available for
additional switching functions.
2. Where required, connect 12-15 V= (potential-
free – use Behnke power supply unit 20-9585):
Required for illumination, integrated heater and
additional amplifier; not required for telephone
operation and all functions. Special functions
like camera, display, voice messages, timer
control may require additional electronics com-
ponents as well as additional power supply. For
multiple door intercom stations, please always
ensure a galvanic isolation for the additional
power supply. Please note: The devices may
not be used in parallel connection with their
additional power supply.

3. Please connect the telephone line: Line a / b
from an analogue extension to a telephone
system, analogue main line or another analogue
a / b port. After the connection of the telephone
line, you will hear a long beep, indicating that
the door intercom device can now be operated
(= Initialization). Your door intercom device is
now ready for configuration. Please note: The
devices may not be used in parallel connection
on a single a / b line.
