5.3 Installing the modules
The individual combination options of the modules, the stop pin and the
compression spring are used to adapt the system ankle joint to the patient.
Mounting the compression spring
1) Place the ball together with the spring guide housing in the base body;
the ball is positioned in the receiver of the spring guide housing.
2) Mount the compression spring.
3) For the final assembly, apply Loctite 241 to secure the thread of the set
screw.
4) Close the channel on the base body with the set screw, observing the
angle setting of the ankle joint as you do so.
Mounting the stop pin
1) Slide the stop pin into the stop sleeve and insert them into the base body
together. INFORMATION: When installing the stop, ensure that the
tapered side of the stop is resting on the foot stirrup.
2) Insert the stop bumper.
3) For the final assembly, apply Loctite 241 to secure the thread of the set
screw.
4) Close the channel on the base body with the set screw, observing the
angle setting of the ankle joint as you do so.
Adjusting the stop and spring pre-tension
► To adjust the pre-tension, use a Torx wrench to screw the set screw
deeper into the channel or unscrew it.
6 Cleaning
Clean the orthosis joint promptly after contact with water containing salt,
chlorine or soap, or if it gets dirty.
1) Rinse the orthosis joint with clean, fresh water.
2) Dry the orthosis joint with a cloth or allow it to air-dry. Avoid exposure to
direct heat (e.g. from an oven or radiator).
