INFORMATION
The instructions for fabricating an orthosis with unilateral joints are
included in the 646T5441 technical information. The laminate structure
described here is a recommendation from Ottobock and must be adjusted
to the needs of the patient.
Required materials: 17LD1N=* lamination dummy with shoulder screw,
>
17LD1N=*-P dummy cover, 17LF3N=* or 17LF31N foot stirrup,
17LS3=* lamination bar, 501S137=* countersunk head screws, 636K8
Plastaband, 743Y56=4 alignment adapter
>
The plaster model has been produced in the neutral position.
1) Install the carbon fibre-reinforced lamination bar with the two counter
sunk head screws on the lower part of the lamination dummy.
2) The bearing bushing must be removed from the foot stirrup before the
foot stirrup can be mounted on the lamination dummy. INFORMATION:
The bearing bushing can be easily pushed out of the foot stirrup
by means of the lamination dummy cover. Important! Set the bear
ing bushing aside in a safe place and reinsert it in the foot stirrup
prior to final assembly of the orthosis.
3) Place the reinforced foot stirrup in the lamination dummy cover.
4) Set the cover onto the lower section of the lamination dummy and secure
it with the shoulder screw. The design of the cover causes it to be moved
into the neutral position.
5) Attach the lamination dummy to the plaster model by inserting the
shoulder screw through the cover, foot stirrup and lower section and
fastening it to the alignment adapter.
6) Seal the screws of the bar and dummy with Plastaband.
7) Laminate the orthosis according to the patient's needs.
8) After the laminate hardens, use a knife to cut free the lamination dummy
and remove it.
9) Remove the Plastaband from the screws.
10) Remove the two countersunk head screws of the lamination bar.
11) Loosen the lamination dummy screws and remove the cover.
12) Use the oscillating saw to expose the edges for removal.
